Last updated: March 29, 2026
1. Acceptance of Terms
By installing, accessing, or using the GmailKrypt Chrome extension or any associated services (collectively, the “Service”), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service (“Terms”). If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the Service.
2. Description of Service
GmailKrypt is a Chrome browser extension that adds PGP-based end-to-end encryption to Gmail. The Service allows users to encrypt, decrypt, and digitally sign email messages directly within the Gmail web interface. The Service includes both free and paid subscription tiers.
3. Eligibility
You must be at least 13 years old to use the Service. By using the Service, you represent that you meet this requirement and have the legal capacity to enter into these Terms.
4. User Accounts and Keys
- You are solely responsible for safeguarding your PGP private keys and passphrases.
- We do not store your private keys and cannot recover them if lost. Loss of your private key means permanent inability to decrypt messages encrypted with the corresponding public key.
- You are responsible for maintaining backups of your encryption keys.
- You must not share your private keys or passphrases with unauthorized parties.
5. Free and Pro Plans
Free Plan: Includes up to 5 encryptions per day, 1 key pair, digital signatures, and contact key management. The free plan is provided at no cost and may be subject to feature limitations.
Pro Plan ($4.99/month): Includes unlimited encryptions, unlimited key pairs, attachment encryption, and priority support. The Pro plan is billed monthly through Stripe.
6. Payments and Billing
- Pro subscriptions are billed monthly in advance via Stripe.
- All fees are in US Dollars and are non-refundable except as required by applicable law.
- You may cancel your subscription at any time through the Stripe customer portal accessible from the extension. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period.
- We reserve the right to change pricing with 30 days' notice. Price changes do not affect the current billing period.
- If payment fails, your account may be downgraded to the Free plan after a grace period.
7. Coupon Codes
- Promotional coupon codes may be issued at our discretion.
- Each coupon code can only be redeemed once unless otherwise specified.
- We reserve the right to revoke coupon codes at any time.
- Coupon codes may have expiration dates and are void after expiry.
- Coupon codes cannot be exchanged for cash or combined with other offers.
8. Acceptable Use
You agree not to use the Service to:
- Violate any applicable laws or regulations
- Send spam, malware, or phishing emails
- Circumvent or attempt to circumvent the free tier usage limits through automated means
- Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the Service
- Interfere with or disrupt the Service or its infrastructure
- Impersonate another person or entity
9. Intellectual Property
The Service, including its code, design, logos, and documentation, is owned by GmailKrypt and protected by intellectual property laws. You are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the extension for personal or business purposes in accordance with these Terms.
10. Third-Party Services
The Service integrates with Gmail (Google), Stripe (payments), and Chrome browser APIs. Your use of these third-party services is subject to their respective terms of service and privacy policies. We are not responsible for the availability, security, or practices of third-party services.
11. Disclaimer of Warranties
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE” WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR COMPLETELY SECURE.
While GmailKrypt uses industry-standard PGP encryption, no encryption system is guaranteed to be unbreakable. You use the Service at your own risk and are responsible for evaluating whether the level of security meets your needs.
12. Limitation of Liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, GMAILKRYPT SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING LOSS OF DATA, LOSS OF PROFITS, OR LOSS OF ENCRYPTED COMMUNICATIONS, ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY SHALL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID FOR THE SERVICE IN THE 12 MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM.
13. Termination
- You may stop using the Service at any time by uninstalling the extension.
- We may suspend or terminate your access if you violate these Terms.
- Upon termination, your locally stored keys and data remain on your device. Server-side subscription data will be deleted in accordance with our Privacy Policy.
14. Changes to Terms
We may modify these Terms at any time. Updated Terms will be posted on this page with a revised date. Continued use of the Service after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the new Terms. For material changes, we will make reasonable efforts to notify users through the extension or email.
15. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the jurisdiction in which GmailKrypt operates, without regard to conflict of law principles.
16. Severability
If any provision of these Terms is held to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions shall continue in full force and effect.
